I will never recommend you to reheat it in a microwave until or unless you have no other option left, because the microwave turns all moisture of food into steam turning your food dry. Below are different ways to reheat leftover briskets.

1- How to Reheat Brisket in the Oven

How to Reheat Brisket

How to reheat brisket in oven is common query of many of us. No worries now, its too easy. For reheating in the oven, we will be needing

  • Meat broth
  • Foil
  • Baking Pan

Method:

  • Preheat your oven to 325ºF.
  • Take out briskets from the freezer and let them come to room temperature.
  • Wrap your meat in foil. If there will be holes in the aluminum sheet, your briskets will be dried out.
  • Always save drippings from the first brisket cook, as brisket is a large piece of meat and most of the time it is not possible to eat it in one sitting. An oven may dry your brisket while reheating so you need to use drippings on briskets.
  • You can also add beef broth to the brisket slices while reheating. It will keep it moist and juicy.
  • It may take around an hour to reheat, if it is a whole brisket, or cook until internal temperature reaches 160 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Sliced brisket will take comparatively less time in reheating. It may take 20 to 25 minutes. Depending upon the size of the slices.

2- Reheating Brisket in the Smoker or Grill

Reheating Brisket in the Smoker or Grill

  • In order to do reheating on the smoker. We will be making two cooking zones, the direct heat zone where we will heat our charcoal and second is the indirect heat zone where we will be keeping our piece of brisket, this zone has less heat than the direct heat zone.
  • Wrap your brisket in foil and then keep it in indirect heat and let it cook until it reaches a temperature of 155 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • When it reaches the required temperature, take it out and unwrap it. It is almost done, now just keep it on the direct heat just for 5 to 10 minutes to reach a temperature of 160 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Now dish it out. It is ready to serve and it is as juicy as it is just fresh off the grill.
  • The same method will be applied even if you are using an electric grill, Charcoal grill, Charcoal smoker, gas grill, or Pellet grill.

Reheating Brisket with Sous Vide

  • A Sous Vide is an appliance that heats up your food without even cooking it. It just provides a water bath to the food.
  • It may take a long time, but you would not regret reheating your briskets with Sous vide tool, as you can’t feel the difference as it is fresh off the grill briskets or reheated. You will get very moist and tender briskets after reheating. It is one of the best way to reheat brisket slices.
  • Take out the meat from the fridge. And bring it to room temperature by letting it rest on the table counter.
  • If you use vacuum-sealed bags for storing meat in the freezer, then sous vide machine is the best option for you.
  • If you don’t, then transfer your meal into a vacuum-sealed baggie and add some drippings or broth in it to make it juicier.
  •  Fill Sous vide bath with water so that your briskets are covered completely in water. After all, it is a water bath.
  • Now set sous vide at a temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • This process may take 3 to 4 hours if you put the whole brisket in it.
  • Fortunately, you can cut it into slices before reheating. It will reheat in less time. Some other methods make briskets harder and dry if sliced. But this clever method has no impact and you get perfectly juicy briskets even after cutting them into small chunks.
  • Keep checking the internal temperature of brisket, if it reaches the temperature of the water. It is done.

  • First of all bring your briskets to room temperature by keeping it on the kitchen counter for 30 to 40 minutes.
  • Set temperature of crockpot between 190 to 200 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Place your brisket in the crockpot. If it is too large to be kept in the crockpot. Cut into pieces.
  • It will take around 4 hours in reheating briskets by this method.
  • After reheating pour beef broth and drippings from the crockpot over it and let it sit for 10 minutes then it is ready to eat.
